The 2019 Rugby World Cup will be held in Japan from September 20 through November 2. With this much-awaited event rapidly approaching, it's time to plan where you'll be watching if you haven't scored tickets. At Rugby Bar No Side Club and Legends Sports Bar, you can watch the action on big-screen TVs and enjoy food and drinks from all over the world alongside locals and visitors alike.

Rugby Bar No Side Club: For true rugby enthusiasts

Since 2011, owner Masakazu Takeuchi has made Tokyo's only rugby-exclusive bar a supportive place for all types of rugby enthusiasts. During monthly events, various professionals visit No Side Club to talk with patrons. Recent guests include Angus Gardner and Ben O'Keefe, both of whom will be refereeing in the 2019 World Cup. The bar is full of mementos, including a jersey from the iconic 2015 South Africa-Japan match, meaning you'll be surrounded by rugby history as you watch the games live on TV. Support your favorite team by drinking one of the bar's original cocktails, such as the Sakura Blossom (frozen sake and cherry liqueur) or the All Blacks (chocolate, Cassis liqueur, and soda). Reservations can be made via email.

Legends: Tokyo's premier sports bar

Opened in 2004, Legends has cemented itself as one of Tokyo's top sports bars thanks to its fun atmosphere, bilingual staff, and high-quality sports broadcasts. Highlights include the bar's eight TV screens and extensive collection of signed sports memorabilia. All menu items are generously sized—with the towering pile of nachos and large burger selection being fan favorites. During the World Cup, every match will be shown live, and a temporary bar will be placed in the outdoor terrace area to expand capacity. Previously, professional rugby players and coaches—including the New Zealand All Blacks—have stopped by for post-match drinks, so there's no telling who you might bump into.
