A convenient gateway to Japan with authentic cultural experiences

Haneda is far more than just an airport; it’s a fascinating destination in itself, with a wealth of food, shopping and attractions. Air enthusiasts can enjoy the observation decks, take a tour at the Japan Airlines SKY MUSEUM, and even stay the night in a “first class cabin” hotel. Near the airport, the Jonanjima Seaside Park is a pleasant place for strolling along Tokyo Bay and even camping.

Tips

  • Enjoy the night view of planes taking off and landing from one of Haneda Airport’s many cafes and restaurants
  • Visit the Edo Koji area of the airport, designed to resemble an Edo-period street
  • Visit nearby Jonanjima Seaside Park for fresh air and great views of Tokyo Bay

How to Get There

Access the airport on the Keikyu Line to Haneda Airport Terminal 3 Station and Haneda Airport Terminal 1・2 Station. Alternatively, take the Tokyo Monorail to Haneda Airport Terminal 3 Station, Haneda Airport Terminal 1 Station, or Haneda Airport Terminal 2 Station.

From Narita Airport: Around one hour 40 minutes on the Limousine Bus or one hour 55 minutes by train.
From Shinjuku Station: Take the Yamanote Line to Shinagawa and transfer to the Keikyu Line to Haneda Airport Terminal 3 Station. Travel time: 30 minutes
From Tokyo Station: Take the JR Keihin-Tohoku Line or Negishi Line to Hamamatsucho and transfer to the Tokyo Monorail to Haneda Airport Terminal 3 Station. Travel time: 30 minutes

Take off for airport adventures

Just 30 minutes from the city center, arriving at Haneda Airport is the most convenient way to access Tokyo. If you need information upon arrival, look for the “mini MORK” concierge robots dotted around Terminals 1 & 2.
Terminal 3, which opened in 2010, offers a taste of “cool Japan,” as well as a window into the Edo period (1603-1868). Tokyo Pop Town offers a hands-on experience of modern Japanese pop culture, with a gift shop and the Starry Café Planetarium. Cross the wooden Haneda Nihonbashi Bridge and explore the replica Edo Koji street of souvenir shops and restaurants. Write your wishes on an ema prayer tablet at Festival Plaza, or take the TIAT Sky Road to the Observation Deck, which offers a panoramic view of the airport and four different runways.

Haneda Innovation City is a commercial and business complex directly connected to Tenkubashi Station, which is one stop from Haneda Airport Terminal 3. With a focus on traditional culture and the latest technology, this is a location for gourmet dining, Japanese cultural activities, and music events.

Stay in style or take a break

There are several hotel options around the airport, whether you have a late flight, an early start or just need to rest for a few hours. Most offer a free shuttle service to and from the airport. "First Cabin", located in Haneda Airport Terminal 1, is a compact hotel designed to look like a first class airplane. There are two types of room: first class cabins and business class cabins. The hotel can also be used during the day if you want to take a break before departure or after arrival.

Get some fresh air

While the city is just a short monorail ride away, if you're staying in the area, you can enjoy the bracing sea air and views of Tokyo Bay at Jonanjima Seaside Park. Get a great view of ships entering and leaving the bay area, and planes taking off and landing at Haneda Airport. They even have camping and BBQ facilities if you’re planning a longer stay.

Senzokuike Park

Senzokuike Park is popular with families for its strolling gardens and large pond with swan paddle boats. You can take a stroll around the park, and there's also play equipment to keep little ones busy. The area is also home to Ikegami Honmonji Temple, the main temple of Nichiren Buddhism. With an imposing main hall and a beautiful five-story pagoda, it's worth a side-trip.
