A number of new large-scale commercial complexes are opening in Tokyo in 2023, as part of the redevelopment of the Ginza, Shibuya and Daikanyama areas. Be the first to discover these exciting new developments, and experience a range of shopping and dining options.

Dogenzaka-dori

In August 2023, Dogenzaka-dori will open in Shibuya. About 115 meters high, it consists of a two-story shopping area, offices with state-of-the-art facilities, and a lifestyle boutique hotel. It is designed so that the inside and outside feel like they are connected in the style of a traditional shopping street, hoping to channel the charm of the Shibuya Hyakuken alleys.
Shops include Domise, a specialty shop with a selection of products from the Jonetsu Kakaku brand of Don Quijote, Japan’s famous discount store.
There are also a variety of food and drink options. You’ll find the first Lil Woody's hamburger shop in Japan with a menu that ranges from classic cheeseburgers to burgers featuring Seattle’s local specialties.
Giolitti provides high quality gelato to the Italian royal family. Previously available only in Rome, it has now come to Japan thanks to the cooperation of the Italian Embassy. Try the gelato from the famous film Roman Holiday.
WithGreen salad bowls are made with domestic vegetables, while Sarutahiko Coffee is a specialty coffee shop from Ebisu.

Granbell Square

Located on the famous Corridor Street in the Ginza area, Granbell Square is a commercial facility that includes a nightclub, restaurants, spa/sauna and hotel. It has a striking modern design, with three floors underground and ten floors above ground.
The hotel within the complex opened in April 2023, and even features an outdoor terrace lounge on its fifth floor lobby. Inside the fourth floor spa/sauna there is a relaxation room, and light meals, snacks and drinks are also available.
A range of restaurants, including rooftop restaurants, and a nightclub from Singapore, Zouk Tokyo, are planned for the grand opening in September 2023.

Forest Gate Daikanyama

Scheduled to open in late October of 2023, the aim of Forest Gate Daikanyama is to propose a “new lifestyle of living, working, and recreating all in close proximity," while surrounded by a natural, green environment.
Designed by the famous Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, the Main Building consists of rental housing, a commercial space on the first and second basement floors, and shared office space on the third floor. The natural architectural design incorporates wood and greenery.
The Tenoha Building, consisting of a cafe and event space, is an activity center that connects the community and the city in collaboration with businesses and governments engaged in circular economy activities, with the main goal of providing a sustainable living experience.
In addition to a co-working office space, there will be a range of clothing shops, goods stores, restaurants and cafes, while the terrace seating in the garden-like courtyard will provide a place to relax. A Food Innovation Facility, which aims to promote the food culture of Daikanyama, is also planned.
