Traveling in Tokyo and in need of practical, budget-friendly items to replace forgotten essentials or facilitate life on the road? Both MUJI 500 ATRE VIE MITAKA and the 3 COINS Harajuku Flagship Store have you covered.
The first of MUJI’s new MUJI 500 shops opened in Mitaka in September 2022. The shop provides daily necessities, including toiletries, food and accessories, at reasonable prices, with much of its extensive product lineup comprised of items that sell for 500 yen or less.
Find gloves for hands-on activities, sponges for self-catered stays, soups and snacks to fill you up, and many other items to make your Tokyo trip more comfortable. Keep an eye out for new MUJI 500 branches in 2023, as well as new products.
3 COINS is known for its practical, stylish and reasonably priced merchandise. At the 3 COINS Harajuku Flagship Store, which opened in 2021, you’ll find limited-edition items and food in addition to the usual extensive lineup of 3 COINS merchandise, much of which costs just 300 yen per item.
Great options for travelers include tote bags to hold your gear, arm warmers for chilly days, smartphone shoulder bags for easy access to your on-the-go internet connection, laundry racks and hangers for hotel-room laundry sessions and, for families, child-sized portable toilet seats.
