A place for people and books to find one another

Bunkitsu opened on December 11, 2018. Located just outside Roppongi Station, it has become a place of refuge for the busy people of Tokyo. It's a relaxing, quiet place to sit down and enjoy one of the 30,000 books provided at the facility. Unlike regular book stores, there is only one copy of each book available at Bunkitsu, so each book you take home will have truly been meant for you.

Unique features

For an entrance fee of 1,500 yen, you will have not only access to the carefully curated collection of books handpicked by the staff, but also unlimited coffee—ground for you on the spot—and Japanese green tea from the ancient capital of Kyoto. The store also offers several areas with different settings to suit your mood or need: a cafe/lounge area for getting cozy with food or drink, a line of tables where you can plug in your computer and focus on your work, and a semi-private room for reading, meetings, or anything else.

Additionally, monthly themed exhibitions are held in the space at the entrance of the store. Visitors can view this area for free. No matter what you’re looking for, Bunkitsu has something for everyone, so make sure to stop by and check it out next time you’re in the Roppongi area.
