Experience the brilliant culture that has continued since the Edo period with a rickshaw ride through Asakusa and a tour around Tokyo Bay on a yakatabune (traditional Japanese riverboat).
Many rickshaws are awaiting you near the Kaminarimon Gate in Asakusa.
Starting at the Kaminarimon Gate, the rickshaw will take you around the Asakusa Denpoin Garden and Sensoji Temple area.
Listen to the skillful rickshaw driver explain the origins of Sensoji Temple, the Kannon faith, and the birthplace of kabuki, and feel the essence of Edo culture in Asakusa, a popular spot since the olden days.

Until the early Edo period, lavish boat cruises were enjoyed only by shoguns and feudal lords. As the peaceful times continued and rivers were developed and better maintained, wealthy merchants and others began to enjoy taking boat cruises. In Edo, the Okawa (Sumida River) was crowded with boats in summertime.
You will be able to rediscover the charms of Edo through new initiatives while still feeling the atmosphere of the Edo period.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is developing the waterfront area as a tourist attraction. The tour will take you to Tokyo Bay and Rainbow Bridge with views of Kachidoki Bridge, Kiyosu Bridge, and Eitai Bridge along the Sumida River, where new initiatives such as lighting up the bridges are being implemented.
