Japanese Washi Paper-Making Workshop Ozu Washi

OzuHonkan Bldg., 3-6-2 Nihombashihoncho, Chuo City, Tokyo

Your current location:

The delicate art of making washi paper

Make traditional Japanese washi paper out of local fiber–a task that looks easier than it really is. First, pour the pulp-filled water into a paper-making sieve, before you sift the solution to form an even and flat paper. You will need your utmost focus at this Ozu Washi workshop, as even the slightest mistake may prevent you from making a perfect sheet in a humbling yet rewarding experience.
