5-5-1 Jindaiji-motomachi, Chofu City, Tokyo
Your current location:
Daruma are traditional Japanese dolls that are well-known as lucky charms. Jindai-ji Temple holds its annual Daruma Market – one of the three largest in Japan – on March 3rd and 4th. Jindai-ji Temple is also renowned for its god of marriage, based on a romantic love story. You may struggle at first to choose the best fabric for your Daruma doll, but this is actually a very enjoyable process.
While cutting the fabric into small pieces as per the pattern, and while attaching large pieces to the doll, let your imagination wander, and we are sure your Daruma doll will exceed your expectations.
After focusing on your creation, relax by playing “Darumame-tsumami” (picking up beans) and a board game called “Daruttobi,” or perhaps take a commemorative photo while wearing a “Jindai-ji Daruma” costume.
1. Explanation (about how to apply the paste for each pattern)
