The Niijima International Glass Art Festival is famous as an opportunity for international exchange and skill development in the field of glass-working, with renowned artists from all over the world taking part each year as instructors.
The instructors for the 37th workshop will be Tobias Møhl (Denmark), a master glassblower who fuses traditional Venetian glass techniques with modern Scandinavian design, and Sibelle Yuksek (United States), who instructs flameworking internationally while creating exquisite works influenced by the aesthetics of comics, sci-fi, and mythology.
The final day will feature public demonstrations by these guest instructors and a glass auction open for anyone to join. Visitors can observe how these artists create their incredible array of glass art and even purchase artworks in auction. Information about the ongoing workshops will also be shared publicly online each day.
