The Niijima International Glass Art Festival is famous as an opportunity for international exchange and skill development in the field of glass-working, with renowned artists from all over the world taking part each year as instructors.
The instructors for the 36th workshop will be glassblowers Nancy Callan (United States) and Mel Douglas (Australia), who make large-scale Venetian pieces, along with Roger Parramore, known as the best in the world at making goblets with advanced flame-working techniques.
The final day will feature public demonstrations by these guest instructors and a glass auction open for anyone to join. Visitors can observe how these artists create their incredible array of glass art and even purchase artworks in auction. Information about the ongoing workshops will also be shared publicly online each day.
