The Spring Peony Festival is held from early-April to early May each year at the peony garden of Ueno Toshogu Shrine in Ueno Park. Aside from the many Chinese peonies blooming in early May, you can also see bleeding hearts, early-blooming irises, and other seasonal flowers. This is a chance to relax and admire the beauty of a traditional Japanese garden in the heart of Tokyo.
