The festival thrills and inspires creators and audiences, and shares the excitement and stimulation of a new wave of animation from Tokyo to the world.

The "Competition" features animation from around the world that are being shown in Japan for the first time. The "Anime of the Year" highlights animation released in Japan, and the "Achievement Award" honors talented individuals who have contributed to the animation industry and who convey the history, techniques, and way of life of those who led the way in the industry. There will also be workshops for children.
