The Asagaya Tanabata Matsuri is considered one of the three greatest festivals of its kind throughout Japan. During the event, colorful bamboo displays adorn the area in front of JR Asagaya Station. The eight shopping streets surrounding the station also feature papier-mache ornaments and refreshment stalls, attracting a lively crowd each year.
