In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), various facilities around Tokyo may change their operating days or hours. In addition, some events may be canceled or postponed. Please check official facility or event websites for the latest updates and information.
This year marks the 20th edition of Fiesta Mexicana, an annual event celebrating Mexico's Independence Day, which takes place on September 16. Stop by to get a real taste of Mexico—a top-notch mariachi band, Mariachi Agave, is coming all the way to Japan for the event. Additionally, the event presents stunning performances of traditional Mexican songs and dances by artists and groups from Tokyo and nearby prefectures.
The festival features 30 booths selling Mexican food, handicrafts, and local specialties. Kids can have fun hitting pinatas and joining workshops. Another spectacle worth checking out is lucha libre, Mexican-style professional wrestling.
As an added bonus, the nearby Grand Nikko Tokyo Daiba hotel is hosting a Mexican food festival throughout September. Stop by the hotel for lunch or dinner during the three days of Fiesta Mexicana to be treated to performances by Mariachi Agave.
Free admission (payment required for food and drink, merchandise, and workshops)
Please check the official event website for the latest updates on opening dates and times, prices, and other information.
