In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), various facilities around Tokyo may change their operating days or hours. In addition, some events may be canceled or postponed. Please check official facility or event websites for the latest updates and information.
Note: This event will not take place in 2020.
This summer festival in Ueno takes place over five weeks and features a different event every day, from a toro-nagashi (paper-lantern floating) ceremony to ice-sculpture displays. About halfway around Shinobazu-no-ike Pond extends an antiques market, which always attracts a crowd. By the pond, you can take a break from the festivities by, perhaps, gazing at the lotus flowers and feeling the summer breeze. Additionally, why not enjoy some music and folk entertainment performances at the Waterfront Music Hall (Suijo-Ongakudo)?
Please check the official event website for the latest updates on opening dates and times, prices, and other information.
