Note: The 2023 installment of this event has already taken place.
The back streets of Kagurazaka come alive during the Kagurazaka Matsuri, a summer festival that revives the lively ambience of old Tokyo.
In and around Bishamonten Zenkokuji Temple, you'll find a market selling hozuki (Japanese lantern plant). Additionally, to top off your summer evening, local cafes and restaurants set up stalls for this event. The festival highlight is the Awa-odori Dance, during which 18 groups of incredibly talented musicians and dancers form a procession to dance along Kagurazaka-dori Street.
Please check the official event website for the latest updates on opening dates and times, prices, and other information.
