Kosatsuba 高札場

5-1 Miyanishicho, Fuchu City, Tokyo

In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), various facilities around Tokyo may change their operating days or hours. In addition, some events may be canceled or postponed. Please check official facility or event websites for the latest updates and information.

If you are in the Fuchu area, you can visit an intersection that was once the center of an old post town, where Edo-period (1603-1867) highways crossed. There, you can see an old public notice board, or kosatsuba, dating back centuries. The shogunate posted notifications for all to see on kosatsuba such as these in times past.
