Shinagawa Historical Museum 品川区立品川歴史館

6-11-1 Oi, Shinagawa City, Tokyo

Your current location:

This museum details the history and culture of Shinagawa. The permanent exhibits cover history from ancient to modern times, with a focus on the Omori Shell Mounds and the Shinagawa post station of the old Tokaido road. The museum's garden offers different sights during every season. There you can also find Shotekian, a tea room built in the late 1920s, and a distinctly Japanese musical device called a "suikinkutsu" that uses water droplets to make soothing chimes.
