Shikian 子規庵

2-5-11 Negishi, Taito City, Tokyo

Visit the former home of a literary leader at Shikian. Haiku and tanka writer Masaoka Shiki lived and worked here until his death in 1902. Travel back in time to the Meiji era (1868-1912) as you walk through the grounds of this historic landmark, which was reconstructed after being destroyed in wartime fires.
