Kunitachi Local Museum くにたち郷土文化館

6231 Yaho Kunitachi-shi Tokyo

Stroll back in time at a quaint museum and well-preserved farmhouse

If you walk in the direction of the Tama River from Yagawa Station, you will come across the Kunitachi Folk & Culture Museum. Entrance to the regular collection is free, and there are plenty of interactive exhibits.

The biggest attraction, however, has got to be the Edo-period farmhouse that has been lovingly preserved. After taking a look at antique tools, you can get a better feel for how they were used by touring a typical structure from the period. Depending on the time of your visit, you might be able to participate in one of the demonstrations of daily life on the old farm.
