Noboryotoge Observatory 登龍峠展望

Mitsune, Hachijo-machi, Tokyo

Take a drive on the back of a dragon

If you’re doing a roadtrip around Hachijojima Island, you will encounter the Noboryo Mountain Pass—known as the windiest road on the island. Viewed from afar, this mountain pass looks like a dragon trying to climb up to the sky, hence the name Noboryo—rising dragon. You will encounter magnificent views on the pass.

At the observatory at the highest point of Hachijojima, you will be able to see the townscapes of Hachijo Fuji, Hachijokojima, Sokodo Harbor (Kaminato Port), and Minami Town. On a fine day, you can see islands further away.
