Ishibunebashi Bridge spans 315 feet across the Akigawa River in the Chichibu-Tama-Kai National Park. Have your camera ready; the gorgeous view of the Akigawa Valley from the bridge is rightly famous. Visit between early November and early December for a breathtaking display of autumn color. At the end of the bridge, reward your travels with a soak at Akigawa Keikoku Seoto-no-Yu, an elegant hot spring spa just a five-minute walk away. The popular picnic area of Akikawabashi River Park Barbecue Land is also nearby. Although you can rent barbecue equipment, you need to supply your own food to cook.
