Tokyo Toy Museum 東京おもちゃ美術館

Yotsuya Hiroba 4-20 Yotsuya Shinjuku-ku Tokyo

Learn about toys through fun, games and creative workshops

Although it’s called a museum, in reality Yotsuya’s Tokyo Toy Museum is a hands-on indoor and outdoor playground for children of all ages. Housed inside a former elementary school building, the museum has a collection of over 10,000 toys from both Japan and around the world.

Each space of this three-floor toy center is dedicated to a different theme. For a very local experience, visit Toy Square Red, a space dedicated to traditional Japanese toys. If you’re feeling creative, take advantage of the museum’s toy workshop; offering classes suitable for all ages, the whole family can create their very own toys from recycled materials.
