In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), various facilities around Tokyo may change their operating days or hours. In addition, some events may be canceled or postponed. Please check official facility or event websites for the latest updates and information.
Although called a museum, Yotsuya’s Tokyo Toy Museum is actually a hands-on indoor playground for children of all ages. Housed inside a former elementary school building, the museum has a collection of over 10,000 toys from both Japan and around the world.
Each space of this three-floor toy center has a different theme. For a very local experience, visit Toy Square Red, a space dedicated to traditional Japanese toys. If you’re feeling creative, take advantage of the museum’s toy workshop. Classes suitable for all ages are offered, so the whole family can create toys from recycled materials.
