Connecting you to Japanese modern art

The Yamatane Museum of Art houses the personal collection of Japanese-style paintings of Taneji Yamazaki, founder of Yamatane Securities (currently "SMBC Nikko Securities Inc”.). The collection is home to almost 1,800 works by prominent artists in modern art. These artists, namely Taikan Yokoyama, Shoen Uemura, and Gyokudo Kawai all had personal connections with Yamazaki.

Besides the permanent exhibition, five to six themed and seasonal exhibitions are carried out throughout the year. Enter the realm of charismatic Japanese art through the nature and culture depicted in these nostalgic paintings.
