A peaceful mossy rock garden for escaping the summer heat

On the southern side of Mt. Mitake, where Musashi Mitake-jinja Shrine is, you will find a mossy, rock area called the Okumitake Rock Garden. This rock garden is a picturesque area dominated by clear springs, big moss-covered rocks, and waterfalls.

You can take a walk for about 1.2-kilometer along the marsh, which is part of the Okumitake Scenic Park. The clear stream running through the area gives a revitalizing echo, and if you go in summer, this garden provides some relief from the heat.
