Hamura Zoo 羽村市動物公園

4122 Hane, Hamura-shi, Tokyo

Hands-on nature

The Hamura Zoo aims to nurture a love for nature by introducing kids to different animals. Peacocks, swans and ducks are free to roam about, and there's even a flamingo pond.

The zoo is a manageable size and can be visited in a couple of hours. Kids will enjoy a playground area that includes an original steam train engine. Most of all, kids will enjoy the petting zoo, where they can touch chicks, guinea pigs, and other animals. Bring food or buy lunch nearby, because picnics here are especially lovely during cherry blossom season.
