In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), various facilities around Tokyo may change their operating days or hours. In addition, some events may be canceled or postponed. Please check official facility or event websites for the latest updates and information.
Located in Aoyama in central Tokyo, Spiral is a multi-purpose cultural complex of exhibition spaces, design and crafts stores, and restaurants. Performances and talk events generally carry a surcharge, but the exhibitions are typically free and often make use of the building's atrium.
Designed by architect Fumihiko Maki and demonstrating 1980s Japanese post-modern architecture at its finest, Spiral aims to fuse "art and everyday life." Lounge in the first-floor cafe, take in simultaneous events and wander the building's floating spiral-shaped slope to the second floor.
