KidZania Tokyo キッザニア東京

3F North Port, Urban Dock LaLaport Toyosu, 2-4-9 Toyosu, Koto-ku

A mini city and workers' paradise for kids

KidZania, billed as a "city founded by the children of the world," offers a 2/3 size replica of a real city, complete with adult-like jobs and activities for your children to experience. Crime not included! Located on the engineered island of Toyosu, near Odaiba on Tokyo's east end, it's an eight-minute walk from Toyosu Station on the Yurakucho Line.

  • Letting your children experience capitalism with an official local currency
  • Visiting the job information center to see the plethora of children-only career opportunities
  • Spending your children's hard earned currency at the department store

Entering the complex, you will be astounded at the quality and attention to detail given to this miniature city. Packed with nearly 100 kinds of "jobs" for your children, with real-world tools and equipment; you can easily spend a day here entertaining your little ones. Start off visiting the job information center to find an activity your child might be interested in; they range from part-time jobs that can be completed in around 15 minutes, to more involved jobs where your child will be creating something— pizza for example, or partaking in other involved activities, like planning a fashion show.

The jobs range from kid-favorites like police officer and firefighter, to theater actor and beautician for those more culturally inclined. Unlike the real world, your kid doesn't need any qualifications to participate in the jobs—so let them experiment to their hearts' desire. Adults are prohibited from entering the job pavilions in order to foster independence, but you can watch your little ones from monitor screens and open access areas available for photo ops.

Once your kid has earned some kidZos (the local currency), stop by the bank to open a bank account. They can even acquire a bankcard to use at ATMs located throughout KidZania. After they've had their share of working, visit the Department Store, where they can spend their hard earned cash on cute souvenirs. KidZania is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a one hour break between 3 to 4 p.m. You can purchase same-day tickets, or reserve them online via the KidZania website for optional plans.
