Yumenoshima Tropical Greenhouse Dome 東京都夢の島熱帯植物館

2-1-2 Yumenoshima, Koto City, Tokyo

A tropical paradise in Tokyo

Yumenoshima Tropical Greenhouse Dome in Tokyo's Koto City transports visitors to a tropical jungle. This impressive complex of three interlocking domes towering up to 30 meters high hosts around 1,000 species. Remarkably its heating system runs entirely on excess heat from an incineration plant. You will find everything here from banana trees, carnivorous plants and palms, to water lilies and mangroves. The third dome focuses on the plant life of the remote Ogasawara Islands, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known as "the Galapagos of the East" for its extraordinary biodiversity. Guided tours of the complex are available on weekends and national holidays.
