Eisei Bunko Museum 永青文庫

Hosokawa's collection has been preserved for 700 years at the Eisei Bunko Museum

The Eisei Bunko Museum is a museum in Tokyo's Bunkyo City near Waseda University. The building is formerly part of the Hosokawa clan's estate and the museum holds nearly 6,000 works of art, artifacts and 54,000 historical documents. The displays are changed throughout the year to show different parts of the collection. You can also enjoy a cup of coffee at the museum’s teahouse.

Near the museum are the Edo River Park and Higo Hosokawa Garden, which offer gorgeous gardens to enjoy the view of each season.

  • 10:00-16:30

    *Last entry 30 minutes before closing
  • Closing days: MondaysIf a scheduled closing falls on a public holiday, the facility will remain open on the holiday and close the next day.
