An onsen retreat with enormous open-air baths

Kozushima Island's pristine beaches are not the island's only spots for vacationers to relax and unwind. Its Hot Spring Health Center is a unique complex of indoor bathing facilities including saunas and jacuzzis, but also open-air baths built into rock.

The outdoor baths remain open until after dark. Head there after dinner to relax and unwind while gazing up at the starry night sky. Buses to the center are infrequent, so access by taxi is most convenient.
