In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), various facilities around Tokyo may change their operating days or hours. In addition, some events may be canceled or postponed. Please check official facility or event websites for the latest updates and information.
South of Ryogoku Station, the Sumo Photograph Museum documents the history of Japan's national sport over the last hundred years through a diverse collection of photos, woodblock prints, and other pieces of sumo paraphernalia.
Note that the museum is generally only open on Tuesdays. During the two-week duration of the January, May and September Tokyo tournaments, however, it does open daily.
For updated information on opening hours, closings, prices, and more, please check the official website or ask the facility directly.
