Oi Racecourse 大井競馬場

2-1-2 Katsushima Shinagawa-ku Tokyo

Home to adrenalin pumping races, and the biggest flea market in Tokyo

Oi Racecourse is located just a few minutes by monorail from Hamamatsucho Station. Opened in 1950, the track was the first in the city to popularize nighttime horse racing. Running from spring until autumn, the illuminated nighttime races are colloquially known as “Twinkle.”

If you don’t want to make a bet, you can still watch the show over dinner at the Diamond Turn restaurant, or enjoy a drink from the outdoor Starlight Bar. Visit on the weekend to attend the Oi Racecourse Flea Market, one of the biggest flea markets in Tokyo.

“Tokyo Mega Illumination,” an experience-based event using cutting-edge technology and performance, began on October 7, 2018. It’s one of the largest illumination events in the Kanto region, and the first in the world to be held at a racetrack.
