Hinode Sanso US-Japan Summit Memorial Hall 日の出山荘 中曽根康弘・ロナルド レーガン 日米首脳会談記念館

5270 Oguno, Hinode-machi, Nishitama-gun, Tokyo

Explore the former summer home of a Japanese prime minister

A little to the north of Hachioji you'll find the Hinode Sanso US-Japan Summit Memorial Hall. This mountainous hideaway was the site of a meeting between Japan's then Prime Minister Yasuhiro Nakasone and America's President Ronald Reagan. Once the summer residence of Prime Minister Yasuhiro Nakasone, this retreat is now open to the public.

You can wander through the rooms of the two story residence, see historical artifacts on display and even sit and sip green tea at the same table that once seated world leaders.
