Standing at an imposing 902 meters tall, the impressive Mt. Hinode dominates the landscape at Chichibu-Tama-Kai National Park. The peak of the mountain offers magnificent views of the entire Kanto region including the mountains of the Okutama area, and even some excellent views of the Tokyo Skytree on bright days.
Another highlight of the summit area is the beautiful flowers that grow there such as azaleas and rhododendrons. Wander amongst the flowers or take things more seriously by hiking the various trails. Mt. Hinode translates as the "sunrise mountain"—an apt name as the summit is a favorite spot to watch the first sunrise of the new year.
