In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), various facilities around Tokyo may change their operating days or hours. In addition, some events may be canceled or postponed. Please check official facility or event websites for the latest updates and information.
Half-a-dozen distinct types of bathing experiences await at Musashi-Koyama Onsen Shimizu-yu, a natural hot spring and hot rock sauna in Shinagawa, Tokyo. The Black Hot Spring (kuroyu onsen), for example, pipes in water from some 200 meters below the earth's surface, boasting highly beneficial skin moisturizing properties. Take your time exploring all the bathing areas, each tailored to provide specific health benefits.
Note that Shimizuyu is not designed for tourists, so consider orienting yourself with bathing customs and etiquette before visiting. Likewise, it's encouraged that you bring your own bath soap, shampoos, and towels, though these amenities can be purchased on site for a fee.
General admission: 460 yen
