Azabu Kokubisui Onsen Take-no-yu 麻布黒美水温泉 竹の湯

1-15-12 Minami Azabu, Minato City, Tokyo

Your current location:

Bathe in steaming black hot springs

The name of this public bath means "Azabu black water of beauty," inspired by the mineral-rich water which is the color of dark tea and said to be great for your skin. Moreover, not just the hot spring baths but even the cold-water baths here use luxurious Kokubisui spring water straight from the source.

While public baths in Japan are known for having tiled murals of Mt. Fuji to gaze at while you soak, the decor here is a little unusual. The women's bath features a full map of Japan, while the men's bath boasts a huge mural of the Nihon Maru sailing ship.
