Hotel Okura Tokyo ホテルオークラ東京

2-10-4 Toranomon Minato-ku Tokyo

1960s style hotel setting the standard for luxury in central Tokyo

Built in 1962, Toranomon’s Hotel Okura is a luxury hotel, which has managed to survive the past five decades relatively untouched. The main building might be getting a facelift—due to be completed in 2019—however, the other buildings remain as a time capsule featuring modernist '60s interior and furnishings, and a whiskey lounge serving cocktails from the era.

Visit the Okura Museum of Art located in the grounds—but only after 2019 as it is also undergoing reconstruction—and stroll to the nearby shopping and entertainment district of Roppongi, and the Historical Imperial Palace.
