Tama Zoological Park 東京都多摩動物公園

7-1-1 Hodokubo, Hino City, Tokyo

In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), various facilities around Tokyo may change their operating days or hours. In addition, some events may be canceled or postponed. Please check official facility or event websites for the latest updates and information.

For a closer look at free roaming animals

Tama Zoological Park is not your ordinary zoo. You won't find many cages here. Instead, you'll see the animals in large open spaces surrounded by moats. The animals are able to roam the fence-free grounds in an environment designed to replicate their natural habitats.

The zoo is made up of four main areas: the Australian Garden, the African Garden, the Asiatic Garden, and the Insectarium—which is home to a diverse range of amphibians, birds, mammals, and reptiles. With a very wide range of animals, and its impressive grounds spanning more than 50 hectares, Tama Zoological Park is a great place to spend the day.
