Toranomon Kotohiragu Shrine 虎ノ門 金刀比羅宮

1-2-7 Toranomon, Minato City, Tokyo

Modern business collides with ancient tradition at Kotohiragu Shrine

Surrounded by modern skyscrapers and bustling commerce, the 400-year-old Kotohiragu Shrine provides a glimpse into another era. Built in the 1660, locals pray here to ensure family health, business success, and maritime safety. Nowadays, it also draws crowds for its sato kagura dance performances on the 10th of every month. This ancient folk dance dramatizes old myths, combining flutes, drums, and codified movements.

(No performances on Sundays or national holidays. Please note that weather and staffing issues may affect scheduling.)
