In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), various facilities around Tokyo may change their operating days or hours. In addition, some events may be canceled or postponed. Please check official facility or event websites for the latest updates and information.
Just north of Ueno Park and a little south of the historic Yanaka neighborhood is the family-run Ryokan Sawanoya. A rustic, traditional-style Japanese hotel, you can experience authentic Japanese hospitality while having Ueno's most popular attractions at your doorstep.
The hotel features two types of reservable private baths: one made of cypress wood and one made of clay, both of which will allow you to relax while gazing at the beautiful gardens. The rooms have traditional tatami mats and futon bedding. To make the most of your stay, rent one of the available bikes to zip through the neighborhood, stopping off at some of the many nearby tourist attractions, which include the Tokyo National Museum, Ueno Zoo, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Art.
For updated information on opening hours, closings, prices, and more, please check the official website or ask the facility directly.
