Restock and Recharge Amid the Hustle and Bustle of Shibuya
Miyashita Park is a great example of constantly evolving Tokyo. The original park, established in 1953, was later redesigned to become Tokyo's first rooftop park in the 1960s. Today, Miyashita Park has been reimagined as a "multidimensional" facility with something to suit everyone.
Tips
- Get some shopping done or take a break at a cafe
- Enjoy skateboarding or bouldering in the public park
- Relax among the greenery on the rooftop
- Take a rest at the nearby hotel “sequence MIYASHITA PARK” if you are tired
The “Rayard Miyashita Park“ shopping complex stretches across 330 meters and features dozens of shops, a side street, and restaurants—perfect for a little retail therapy, a good book in a cozy cafe, or even some people-watching with a cup of coffee.
The public park area on the rooftop features a skatepark, a bouldering wall, and a sand court, allowing visitors the rather unique opportunity for beach volleyball in the city center. Of course, there is also green space where you can just take a moment to relax and find your center amid the energy of Shibuya.
The Miyashita Park complex even contains a hotel, so you can stay the night and use it as a base for exploring other parts of the city. The trendy food and fashion scene in Harajuku, and the delightfully retro bars tucked away in Shibuya Yokocho side street are easily accessible.
