Godzilla Custom-Designed Manhole Covers ゴジラをデザインしたマンホール蓋

Past 1-18 Kabukicho (on the sidewalk in front of Shinjuku Toho Building, on the Central Road side), Shinjuku City, Tokyo

You will find Godzilla manhole covers near the entrance of Shinjuku Toho Building, where an actual-size Godzilla head is displayed. One of the covers features the film Shin Godzilla (2016), and the other the film Godzilla vs. Mothra (1992). Shinjuku City granted a special certificate of residence to Godzilla and appointed it as Shinjuku tourism ambassador in 2015. Shinjyuku City chose Godzilla for these manhole cover designs in honor of its contribution to revitalizing the community.
