Kambiki Observatory 神引展望台(式根島)

Shikinejima, Niijima Village, Tokyo

A view that redefines Tokyo

On a fine day, you will be able to catch a generous view of Mt. Fuji, Izu Peninsula, and Izu Islands from the Kambiki Observatory on Shikinejima Island. The views offered here are the opposite of what busy, urban Tokyo is often perceived as. The coast itself has a remarkable, rugged look to it. If you walk a few minutes up the stairs from the bicycle parking lot, you'll be rewarded with a breathtaking view of the landscape below. The small islands in the clear blue ocean and the expanding horizon give visitors a real sense of how large our planet is.
