The Chofu City Fireworks Festival will celebrate its 40th edition with the motto, "40 years of history, with you." 70 fireworks, each weighing around 5 kilograms, will be launched to commemorate 70 years since Chofu was officially designated as a city. A "Hanabillusion" display will combine fireworks and music, with the theme "100 years of Showa." And the showpiece display will feature celebratory fireworks crafted by makers from all over Japan. It's a program unique to Chofu.
”Hanabillusion” is a portmanteau of “hanabi”—the Japanese word for "fireworks"—and "illusion.”
