Digital art has taken off in Tokyo over the past few years, drawing crowds of people eager to see cutting-edge developments in entertainment technology. Maxell Aqua Park Shinagawa, a popular aquarium located in the bustling hub of Shinagawa, is the latest space to introduce digital art to their lineup, with a new immersive area dubbed "Patterns," directed by Naked Inc., one of Japan's leading digital art firms. Newly opened on July 13, come and be among the first to check out the colorful and dazzling displays set against an aquatic backdrop.
The first floor of the aquarium has been remodeled to showcase digital art, including tanks equipped with interactive touch panels. Visitors can enjoy the unique juxtaposition of digital art and sea life, creating unique and never-before-seen underwater visuals. Digital mapping technology and interactive imagery take the traditional aquarium experience to the next level. The exhibition contents will vary seasonally, so look forward to new displays each time you visit. This summer, you can get in the matsuri (festival) spirit by playing taiko drums placed in front of the tanks, which, when hit, will create colorful Japanese patterns and digital fireworks. Tokyo in August is hot, so what better way to relax than to cool off indoors? Be sure to take some photos to make all of your friends at home jealous! Maxell Aqua Park is the perfect trendy spot for friends and couples, to families with kids.
