Even in Ginza, one of Tokyo's most stylish districts, Plustokyo stands out. With a glass exterior illuminated by multicolored neon lights, it sits at the top of the high-end shopping center Kirarito Ginza. Plustokyo is Tokyo's largest music lounge, but it's also much more than that. It's a nightclub that displays and sells art, mixes up over 30 unique drinks at its in-house cocktail bar, and offers daytime and late-night dining in a casual setting.
The interior design of Plustokyo's various spaces has to be seen to be believed. The main space is overlooked by a painting of Mt. Fuji by Morio Nakajima, an artist who made his name painting murals on the walls of sento bathhouses. Surrounding that are a 30-meter-long asphalt bar, a room decorated exclusively in pink, and a pop-up bar themed around typology. Upstairs, you'll find the roof terrace—an open-air dance floor with views of both Tokyo Tower and Tokyo Skytree. It's a stunning addition to Tokyo's nightlife that appeals to the eyes as much as it does to the ears. The eclectic design is brought together by an overarching idea: a New York rooftop with a Japanese twist.
