Cross Tokyo Bay’s scenic Rainbow Bridge to explore Odaiba, a man-made island with a lot to offer

Walk across Rainbow Bridge, one of Tokyo’s most famous landmarks, see the skyline from a park with an unusual history, and visit the world’s largest indoor miniature theme park with this Tokyo walking course.

Rainbow Bridge

Rainbow Bridge connects mainland Tokyo with Odaiba, a man-made island in Tokyo Bay. It is lit up by solar-powered lights which are usually pink, white, and green, but turn rainbow colors at special times throughout the year. The bridge has a lower deck with two separate walkways on the north and south sides. From the north, you can see views of Tokyo Tower, while from the south you can see Tokyo Bay and even Mount Fuji on a clear day. You can walk the length of the bridge, 1.7 km, in about 30 minutes. Biking isn’t allowed, but you are free to walk your bike across.

Exceptionally scenic Daiba Park offers amazing views of the Tokyo skyline

Daiba Park

Daiba Park, which juts off reclaimed island Odaiba, is one of the remaining fortresses built in 1853 by the Tokugawa shogunate as a defensive measure to protect the area from enemy attack. The park is still surrounded by a stone wall, and you can see the remains of a barracks, an explosives warehouse, and an ammunition storehouse. It is five minutes from Odaiba’s man-made beach.

SMALL WORLDS Miniature Museum

Walk through the Gulliver tunnel to enter a 1:80 scale world unlike anything you’ve seen before. Marvel at the astonishing degree of detail and accuracy of the models in a range of areas including the Global Village and the Space Center. You can watch aircraft take off and land at Kansai International Airport Area. Anime fans will enjoy the areas dedicated to "Evangelion."
Experience the miniatures up close and find out how everything moves and works on the Backyard Tour, enter a photo contest with your best photo, and find an original souvenir to take home. You can even create a 1:80 or 1:35 miniature figure of yourself using the 3D scanner, to take home or to become a “resident” of Small Worlds for a year.
