Ousui-kun Custom-Designed Manhole Covers 「桜水くん」デザインマンホール蓋

The centers of these manhole covers feature Ousui-kun, the official character of the Koganei City public sewerage system. The edge of the cover is decorated with petals of the city’s official flower, the cherry blossom. Ousui-kun is holding a house that is next to a zelkova tree, the city's official tree, and he is being addressed by the city’s official bird, the common kingfisher. The text reads “Welcome to Koganei, city of water and greenery,” a reference to Koganei City's origins in Musashino’s lush greenery and clear spring water. All in all, the manhole cover is covered in distinctive Koganei flavor.
