Kururin (Tachikawa City character) Custom-designed Manhole Covers 立川市キャラクター「くるりん」のデザインマンホール蓋

These manhole covers feature Kururin, the official character of Tachikawa City. The very popular Kururin character with its distinctive cheek swirls was initially the municipal bus mascot, but it debuted as the official character of Tachikawa City after a popular vote in 2012.
The hope is that people will “feel like Kururin is always playing happily somewhere in the city.”
