The Hattori family were boat merchants, and they shipped exquisite yellow silk to the Tokugawa shogunate. You can buy handmade silk items and taste fresh passion fruit juice at the teahouse. Some of the trees in the garden are over 800 years old. Get the full experience by attending the daily drum and dance performance.
